First off I would like to take a quick moment to thank everyone in the military. Your service to this country does not go unrecognized and everyone should take a moment, not just during holidays, but anytime you see military personal, to say thank you.
With that being said, I have to say I had a blast on Memorial Day! I woke up at 5 a.m., I didn’t even realize I could wake up that early, and was at the beach by a little after 6. I met up with one of the girls from my troupe who was throwing a bbq and helped her and her hubby set up for the day. We were all set up, set up the grill for round one, aka breakfast, ate, then relaxed until the rest of the group arrived.
All day was awesome. Great food, LOTS of sunshine, and best part, not one ounce of homework! Probably not the wisest of ideas, but a necessary one none the less. I think I ate my weight in carne asada and ribs! It’s funny how American holidays have become synonymous with over eating lots of bbq. Luckily, after 11 hours in the sun, I only was burnt slightly on my nose and an awkward patch on my leg.
